Join a group of world class IC design professionals working in the field of CMOS image sensor systems for state-of-the-art custom machine vision and medical applications. Photolitics is currently looking for a highly motivated individual to fulfill the role in our design office in Bulgaria.

By joining us you will have the opportunity to develop electronics systems for the readout of custom CMOS image sensors, including: digital design for FPGA in Verilog and VHDL, implementation of digital communication modules (SPI, UART, LVDS, PCI-Express, Camera Link), design of automated helper scripts in Python and Perl. Image sensor characterization and image processing in Matlab.


As a digital designer with us you will have the freedom to participate in all phases of IC design and final characterization.

Specific Job Duties:

◇ FPGA design – knowledge in VHDL or Verilog

◇ Scripting skills – knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Perl, Matlab/Octave

◇ Performing test and debug of electronics systems and custom chip designs

◇ Technical documentation

Qualifications:

◇ Experience with software/firmware for embedded systems, including PIC / AVR microcontrollers and/or FPGA, or programming for PLC

◇ Ability to define and describe complex systems through illustrations and explanations

◇ Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

◇ Understanding of fundamentals in digital electronics design

◇ Familiar with lab instruments: oscilloscope, logic analyzer, signal generator

◇ Good communication skills

Experience in one or more of the following fields is preferable, but not required:

◇ CMOS image sensor design experience

◇ PCB design using any PCB EDA

◇ Knowledge in fundamentals of photonics and electro-optics

◇ Knowledge in SERDES, FIFO Design, USB 3.0, PCI, UART, SPI, I2C

◇ Assembler, C++ or other embedded system design languages

Education:

◇ A minimum of BSc in Electronics, Computer Systems and Technologies, Telecommunications, Electrical or Control Engineering

◇ Candidate must be a team player and an active participant in brainstorming solutions
